It’s a fact that the internet loves cats. But here at Boombox we are also partial to dogs, especially those that take part in the ‘Pooch of the Month’ Facebook competition we manage for LoveMyDog, makers of London’s finest ‘canine couture’.

Boombox helped create and run the recent ‘Bee Lovely’ social campaign for organic beauty brand Neal’s Yard Remedies. Last weekend I visited the Neal’s Yard Remedies store in the King’s Road to see the ‘Bee Lovely’ photography competition winners view their photos on canvas for the first time.

Winners and runners up included Tiegan Neary, Glenn Iverson and Clark Mortin. Fergus Gill (Young Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2010) had assisted Neal’s Yard Remedies with the judging also came along and joined in the celebrations.

The photography competition was launched via the Neal’s Yard Remedies Facebook page and followed the launch of a new hand cream product on Facebook back in July.

Made with honey, the Bee Lovely Hand Cream was a limited edition product. It seemed a perfect fit for Neal’s Yard Remedies, who specialise in natural, organic skincare products. The hand cream was available exclusively to fans of Neal’s Yard Remedies Facebook page for a month before making its way in stores across the UK.

£1 from every tube sold went to Buglife, Landlife and Pesticide Action Network UK, to support their bee-friendly initiatives. An online petition to help save UK bees from harmful pesticides was also promoted within the campaign http://www.nealsyardremedies.com/bee-lovely-petition.

Boombox created a ‘Bee Lovely’ iFrame tab for the Neal’s Yard Remedies Facebook page, which included several pages of various bee-friendly information and a link to purchase the hand cream online. Three sets of Facebook ads were created to run throughout the campaign with a landing page set-up to help convert first time visitors ‘Like’ the page, subsequently receiving updates about the brand in their news feeds.

Boombox also ran the online photography competition, setting up a form to run on the Neal’s Yard Remedies Facebook page and updating the Bee Lovely photo albums. There were over 450 fantastic photos submitted, with the competition sparking lots of conversations between page fans.
