Win a polar bear from black+blum
Design duo black+blum create products for the home and office, combining ruthless practicality with a mischievous and intellectually-satisfying design aesthetic. Their latest product is is a polar bear ice tray who can live in your freezer called brrrrr… Not only does it take the fuss out of making ice cubes, it also stops them picking up taste and odours of other items in your freezer. How cool is that?
To tie in with today’s International Polar Bear Day, a competition to win a brrrrr… was announced via the black+blum Facebook page.
Boombox created a bespoke Facebook competition page tab that included an online form for entrants to add their name, email address and an option to sign up for black+blum newsletters.
The competition is free to enter, just visit the black+blum Facebook page using a computer (not a mobile or tablet) and click on the ‘Win a polar bear!’ tab under their cover image. The closing date is the 8th March. After which time we’ll send all the entrants names onto black+blum so they can choose a winner.
The ice tray is so new that it’s not even on the black+blum website yet (they’re expecting in the next month) but you can see their current product line-up here.

Their latest bicycle product is so trick, Boombox thought it need a Facebook page tab all of its own. Muc-Off’s C3 ceramic chain lube is the first of its kind with boron nitride compounds, fluoropolymers and integral UV tracer dyes. By using the special torch that comes with each bottle you can see clearly where the lube has been applied ensuring your bike chain is properly protected, maximising life and minimising pedalling effort.

Boombox has partnered with Bull Rodger to work on a UGC campaign for Ducati UK.
Ducati’s iconic Monster motorcycle is now 20 years old. Ducati UK are celebrating this anniversary with a special competition and Monster stand and at Motorcycle Live, one of the UK’s largest motorcycle shows.
The Monster stand is to be created from UK Monster owner’s stories, poems, videos and photos via Facebook and Twitter accounts setup by Boombox.
Bull Rodger worked on all the visual elements of the online UK campaign. Boombox completed work on the social accounts, building and hosting the Facebook page tabs. Boombox is also assisting Ducati UK in community management services (and has already helped connect drum and bass hero Goldie with the campaign).
The Ducati page tabs allow Monster owners both past and present to upload content in keeping with strict Facebook competition rules. The data software used by Boombox allows stand designers Gyst easy access to high quality images and files. Once the campaign has finished, Ducati UK will be able to use the data uploaded for future email campaigns.

BOOM! A big thanks to Slib Design.
Boombox met up with Slib Design founder and owner Ben Llewellyn this week. Ben has been a great help in advising Boombox’s continuing use of fast and secure hosting.
Secure hosting has been required for all Facebook page tabs since October 2011.
Facebook page tabs allow brands space to really get their message across. This can be in the form of embedded videos, email signup forms, the latest campaign or monthly discount codes. The possibilities are endless. Page tabs are used by many premium brands, and Boombox has created tabs for the likes of Ducati UK, Neal’s Yard Remedies, TV companies and monthly glossies.
We’re still surprised when we see brands using outdated page tabs that either flash up warning messages or that simply do not load at all. Many pages feature old apps that haven’t been updated in months or that promote the app makers rather than the page. If that sounds familiar why not get in touch and get your brand messaging heard.
Slib Design work with solo entrepreneurs and international companies and design beautiful looking (and fast loading) websites. So whilst we can help advise and manage your social media activity, you should speak to Slib Design to ensure visitors to your website are equally impressed.
